This week's challenge was "Dearest Beloved".  This is the wedding photo of my parents.  Back then there wasn't a photographer taking photos during the ceremony.  The couple would go to a studio for their pictures.  

 "Sentimental Treasure" was this week challenge.  This is a teddy bear given to my when I was born by my grandfather.  When I was about 6, I sewed her some clothing by hand.  I've been sewing every since. 

 "Serene" was this week's challenge.  These are heading for the nesting area at twilight on Council Grove City Lake. 

The song "The Rose" was our inspiration for this week's challenge.  We could use any of the lyrics to make our picture.  This is "the road has been too long". 
 

This is a hummingbird moth.  Really a sphinx moth.  But the tongue and wings give it the common name.  I got this photo in Colorado and then find out that we have them around here when I posted the photo.  A couple of friends said they have them.  I guess I don't have the right kind of flowers to attract them. 
 

 This week's challenge was Dark Shadows, our Halloween challenge.  I was out of town and didn't think I'd do this challenge, but I got this photo with my phone.  

 This week's challenge was "upside down".  I've had this crystal ball for a couple of years and finally found a time to use it.  This is the railroad tracks going west out of LaVeta, Co. 

Pareidolia was the challenge this week, something that looks like something else.  I found this snaggly toothed deer peeking around a tree and got a photo of it.  
 

 Leading Line was this week's challenge.  There are many great photos posted to the class.  This is my leading line, a fading con trail leading to the sunset. 

The challenge was "Smoke and Mirrors".  I decided to do a Flim Flam type of photo.  
 

 Still Life was the challenge.  This is kind of a denim to diamonds.  Sunflower (denim/country) and champagne flute (diamonds).  Dennis liked this photo the best of all because the tree frames it at the top. 

 This week was "eyes".  I didn't want to take another picture of Red's eye.  So I opted to us a letter. 

 The challenge was "Rhymes with Hip".  Red posed for me with his horse lips. 

 Year Word revisited was the challenge.  My year word was beauty.  This is a summer beauty.  Don't know where the rust  colored flowers are that were pictured on the seed packet front.  

 Cliche is the challenge this week.  This is "chip off the old block".  I had to substitute a brick for a block.  

This week's challenge was any kind of water.  I wanted to show that Kansas just isn't flat as the saying goes.  This is the waterfall at Geary County Lake.  

 

 Week 29's challenge was hats.  This is Dennis' kepi and bayonet on a Civil War soldier's tombstone. 

Film Noir.  Couldn't think of much.  And the thief took both of our chainsaws.  Kevin posed for the photo.  It was supposed to be in B&W.  
 

 Minimalism was the challenge this week.  It rained during the night and I took this droplet on the tip of one of our cedar trees.  

Radial Symmetry.  This is a Candian thistle. It is noxious and a land owner will be fined if they don't get rid of them.  But they are still pretty.
 

 The challenge was "on the fence".  The decision which to eat is on the fence.  Thanks to Dennis for posing for me.  

 

Abandoned was the challenge.  I couldn't come up with much because Ricky didn't want us depending on old buildings or vehicles.  This is the road east of our house that is used so little that the grass is growing up in it.  Plus one of the neighbors has opened a gate that almost blocks the road to anyone who might use it. 

Silhouette was the challenge for this week.  It was too rainy in the beginning of the week and now it's too windy for anything to stay still.  This item was about the only thing that wasn't moving around.  I turned the photo to B&W in LR.
 

 The week's challenge was Forced Perspective.  I knew Dennis had big shoes, but here he is jumping out of one of his boots.  haha

 "Light Painting" was the challenge.  There were a lot of great photos in the group.  I waiting until 10:30 the last night for a clear sky.  But it didn't happen.  The sky was too overcast, that the moon was a blur.  So this is a hose and Dennis put a flashlight on it to create the sparkles.  

 Cracked was the challenge.  This is one of our many eggs (20 chickens) cracked in a skillet.

Triangle was the challenge.  This is the view looking up at an arm of the horse walker.  
 

Motion.  That was this week's challenge.  I wanted to do one of the wind charger blades at BETO, but it has been way too windy all week for them to be turning.  This is water going into the dogs' bowl from the faucet.  I really like how the light on the bubbles make it looks like an outline. 
 

The photo challenge this week was "Collections".  This is my collection of coins in the cupholder in my car.  
 

 "Rhymes with Tune"  This is my photo of the week in the photo group and I got to eat the model.  

 "Fashion Statement"  Bet Mercedes Benz did think this would be the fashion statement for their brand. 

 "Power of One" was the challenge.  The power of one match can either bring warmth or devastation. 

 Wrinkle is the challenge.  This is a burl on a catalpa tree in our yard.  It looks like B&W but it really is the colors of the wood. 

 The Cyndi Lauper song "True Colors" was the challenge this week.  I put a cut glass bowl on top of one of my quilt backs upside down.  Then blurred the corners to make it more diamond-like. 

 The challenge is "Time".  It took me several days to find a bottle with a large enough top to put a watch in and then one of the others in the group posted "time in a bottle".  So I had to think of something else.  So this is the sands of time. 

 Shadow Play was the challenge this week.  With 8" of snow and COLD weather, this week was a good shadow for me. 

This week's challenge was wonky.  This sign is wonky.  Does it indicate a turn to the right or is it indicating the resting place of the resident?

The one below is a sheep's foot.  I forgot to post last week when tri or triple was the challenge.  It is a tool used for compacting.  Notice the star cutouts in a utilitarian implement.

 Rear end was the challenge.  This is the rear end of a mule (not Dennis') at the rear end of the day.  I didn't get much of the sunset because it was getting late.  

 This week was levitation.  "I'll get you my pretties" says the Wicked Witch.  Cold weather, snow, no electricity, my Lightroom crashed and when they reloaded it, over 3000 of my photos were corrupted and were deleted.  Then they loaded the new version and I'm struggling to learn it.  Maybe next week will be better. 

 The new year with the critique group first challenge is Year Word.  I decided on beauty.  It will be hard keeping up with beauty with some of the challenges he gives us.  Next week is ascend, I think.  How do you depict that?
